Spilka Fixade

Product description

Spilka Fixade is an installation system for facade panels that provides quick and precise screwless installation of various types of panels. It provides a shorter installation time and a more precise result, in addition to a service life equal to or better than that of the facade panels.

Spilka Fixade replaces traditional wooden battens by using a metal rail system with associated mounting clips.

Spilka Fixade provides great design freedom and is suitable for both horizontal and vertical panel orientation, with straight or staggered design.

60-year warranty

When you choose Fixade, you get an environmentally friendly, high-quality product with a 60-year warranty.

Fixade Components

Horizontal and vertical steel rails in 1.25 mm thick S355 coated with a metallic coating, Magnelis or equivalent corrosion protection, corrosion category C5.

.

Fastening clips in stainless spring steel, 1 mm and 1.2 mm thick EN 1.4310 in powder-coated finish.

Joint profiles in partially elastic polymer.

Installation

The standard horizontal rail is attached to the uprights with screws (Download our product data sheet for more information on the type of screws).

The vertical rails are then clicked into slots in the horizontal rails.

Facade panels are attached to the system with clips that are placed at distances as specified by the panel manufacturer.

The gap between the facade panels is 7 mm. The system's joint sealing is used to protect the gap against water ingress. The joint seal is made of a polymer that is partially elastic and adapts to thermal expansion of the panels.

Area of use

Spilka Fixade can be used for mounting facade panels to external walls. The system is suitable for use in risk class 6 and fire class 4 (provided the facade panels meet fire requirements), and can be adapted to all terrain categories and floor heights by adjusting the clip density.

Spilka Fixade requires fixing on vertical wooden battens with a maximum centre distance of 600 mm or a plain wall that can withstand fixing.

Technical approval of the system requires a wind barrier system with water tightness W1.

Panel formats

Spilka Fixade can be used together with facade panels in thicknesses up to and including 13 mm.

Carrying clips at the bottom of each panel can be loaded with up to 40 kg per clip. Other loads must be calculated separately. Contact Spilka for assessment.

As long as the panel material does not corrode in contact with any of the components in Spilka Fixade or the maximum weight is exceeded, all kinds of panels can be used. For very heavy panels, the clip density can be increased.

Properties

Ventilation

The system provides an air gap of 23 mm with a flow area of 9005 mm2/m.

Moisture and drainage

Horizontal rail Standard is designed with drainage slits and a drip nose to keep any water ingress away from the wind barrier.

Thermal expansion

The clip geometry provides room for expansion of the facade panels during temperature variations. Springing on the front of the clips provides a pre-tightening against the panels.

Corrosion-treated steel

A durable material

Fixade consists of corrosion-resistant steel components

A steel structure is exceptionally durable, with little or no need for maintenance. This leads to minimal environmental impacts during the lifetime of the construction.

Steel is also a non-combustible and flame-resistant material that does not absorb water, swell, shrink, crack or twist.

Designed for reuse

By designing with efficient assembly and disassembly in mind, the steel components can be easily reused. The need for new steel production can thus be greatly reduced. This was an important key point when we developed Fixade.

Easy engineering

Fixade consists of 13 standard components that can be adapted to all types of buildings anywhere in the world. Only the painting of the clips is project-specific, as these are given the same color as the façade panels.

A sustainable choice

Recycled steel is used in the production of Fixade, which leads to a lower extraction of natural resources and less impact on the environment.

Steel is 100 % recyclable without loss of quality and has a potentially endless life cycle. This means that products made of steel can be recycled to make new products again and again and again without any loss of quality. Steel production based on recycled steel reduces emissions of CO2.

Reuse

Spilka Fixade does not require holes to be drilled in the facade panels for installation. The system thus makes disassembly and reuse of the panels possible.

All mounting rails and clips can be reused if they are carefully dismantled.

Recycling

All steel rails and clips can be recycled.

Joint profiles can be recycled or burned for heat recovery according to local regulations.

Materials

Spilka Fixade contains no chemicals hazardous to health or the environment. Self-declaration for health and environmental data is available.
