Spilka will contribute to a more sustainable future by developing products and solutions in innovative and effective ways. Our strategic focus is on sustainable resource use to make a difference in the construction industry.
This is an industry that globally accounts for:
- 40 % Greenhouse gas emissions
- 40 % Waste from processes
- 40 % Energy consumption
- 40 % Material consumption
Our ambition is to reduce this considerably through innovative, reusable solutions that are made in the most responsible way, with an emphasis on resource and energy efficiency and the least possible impact on the climate and environment; with respect for human and labour rights and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
At Spilka, we care about both what we do and the way we do it.
To make it work we have to design products so that they have a long life, with minimal maintenance requirements and the ability to be reused or recycled. We also have to consider the lifetime of the ‘input factors’ – the individual resources that go into the production of the product – and that we produce with as little waste as possible. We then need efficient, cost-effective systems to collect materials to be reused or recycled into other products. Circularity means we need to use less ‘new’ resources either in materials or energy by re-using what we have.
Spilka has a history and philosophy of designing and producing durable products with a long life, but we aim to be even better in future, with the development of Fixade’s reusable facade system being the first of more, innovative products in due course.
Fixade® is an innovative solution that contributes to increased productivity and efficiency by reducing installation time by up to 50 % for a labour-intensive part of the construction process.
